Makeup Artistry Graduate and Tutor talks to us about the opportunities and work experience in WelTec's Makeup Artistry programmes.
Amanda Kisona had always been creatively inclined. Growing up she was enthusiastic about creativity and she knew she was going to pursue a career in the Makeup Industry.
“There were a few different institutions that had offered Makeup Artistry courses, so at first I couldn’t decide where to go. But I knew I wanted somewhere that could give me industry experience. I knew that WelTec gave their students the opportunity to work with WoW (World of Wearable Art), and that was the first thing that caught my attention.”
“I worked hard as a student and I was lucky enough during my time studying Makeup Artistry at WelTec to be involved with a lot of work experience.”
Amanda left WelTec with an array of skills, both in Makeup Artistry and with people. She is now tutoring the make up artistry and make up and skincare courses at Te Auaha.
“Makeup is my favourite medium of art. I love how I can play a part in making people feel good. I love being able to do what I do and also pass on my knowledge to my amazing students.
