Whitireia Polytechnic celebrates history of toi pasifika performance with THROWBACK

**no show on Friday 28 June**

Wellington will soon be treated to a joyful, thrilling and tightly-packed showcase of diverse toi pasifika talent at Te Auaha – the New Zealand Institute of Creativity. THROWBACK is an exciting new show with a nod to the past; a collection of kapa haka, Siva Samoa, Cook Islands and contemporary music and choreography that celebrates the history of the school’s Performing Arts course while looking to its future.

Led by a cohort of tutors who are all graduates of the Performing Arts course, THROWBACK is dedicated in gratitude to the staff and students who’ve contributed to the course’s success over the years. “This production acknowledges and celebrates the people who have learned, taught and performed these artforms over the past 29 years”, says kapa haka tutor and choreographer Krystal Clarke. “They created the foundation that we are fortunate enough to keep building upon.”
