Words have the power to name, to define, to embolden, to challenge.
Whitireia Community Polytechnic’s first full-length dance show for 2019 is Body Language, an hour of original choreography that pairs the essential power of language with the captivating physical expression of dance.
Taking inspiration from carefully selected words and phrases, the choreographers have created a showcase of ‘dance-in-translation’, presenting expressions of movement that communicate more than words in the language of dance.
Body Language is performed by the Year One Commercial Dance Students as part of the 2019 Performing Arts Programme for the NZ Diploma in Dance/Bachelor of Creativity.
